In the STI Surface Centre in Sternenfels-Diefenbach (Germany) customers from all across Europe can flexibly and economically access to STI | Hartchrom's high-end surface treatment technologies. The location in Germany is equipped with coating plants of the latest generation and was designed to fulfil the highest standards for medium-size series and batch components. On an area of more than 38,000 m2, the German subsidiary treats the surfaces of components up to 1.20 m in diameter and 5 m in length. The infrastructures of the precision grinding shops and surface treatment plants are operated 24 hours a day on seven days a week if required.

A further section of the coating plants has been designed for special procedures. Both the production line developed by STI for chrome plating and electro plating sieve baskets and the Hartchrom Teikuro Process for the forming tools used by the automotive industry can be found at the Sternenfels-Diefenbach location. In addition, the STI Surface Centre contains one of Europe's most automated chemical nickel plants.
