STI | Hartchrom always focuses on every little detail. As the leading surface treatment technology group of companies, STI | Hartchrom is particularly committed to the environment, to safety and to quality. Certified processes according to ISO 9001 and 14001 (Switzerland,Germany), ISO 9001, EN 9100 or NADCAP (France) enable STI | Hartchrom's subsidiaries to set the highest standards in quality, precision and safety. For STI | Hartchrom the environment, health and safety are components that are inextricably linked with quality. Continuously improving all processes is superseded by the quest to achieve the highest level of quality and care when dealing with man and the environment, which is always at the centre of the company's actions.
The fact that STI | Hartchrom AG Steinach was one of the first surface technology companies to be certified according to ISO 9001 and the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001 in 1996 and 1999, respectively, bears testimony to Hartchrom AG Steinach taking up its role as a leader even in environmental issues as well as adhering to challenging quality standards. This was additionally emphasised when Hartchrom AG Steinach's low emissions led to tighter environmental laws. The environmental management efforts mainly focus on reducing air, noise and waste water emissions as well as optimising the energy efficiency.
Low emissions are the visible result of a long series of measures. They also reflect the willingness to invest in the "Best Available Technology" even from an ecological point of view. The process-oriented Hartchrom Management System (HMS), however, provides guidance on a more comprehensive, holistic commitment. The activities start with the development of environmentally friendly products and resources (eco design), the search for raw materials exploitation alternatives and the collaboration with like-minded business partners. They continue to include the participation in ecological research projects and the gentle handling of natural resources as well as careful, professional disposal.
