Hard Chrome

Compared to other procedures, functional hard chrome plating only exposes the parts to be coated to very low temperatures to avoid warpage. In addition, very thick coatings can be deposited. If the thickness is sufficient, even soft materials can be chrome plated for high stress applications. The basic materials of thinner coatings, however, need to feature sufficient hardness (=supporting effect). With regards to adhesion, hard chrome plating surpasses competing procedures if the pre-treatment process is adjusted to the basic material. Hard chrome coatings can be ground and polished until a mirror finish is achieved. The hardness and the homogenous coating composition results in outstanding surface qualities.
