Particular challenges when dealing with the successful coating of free-form surfaces are the surfaces treatment of high alloy tool steel and basic materials, a regular coating distribution and reproducible results. STI | Hartchrom easily masters these challenges thanks to its specific know-how and an outstanding fixture construction. Adhering to the narrowest tolerance value ranges for small or medium-size components with free-form surfaces is a matter of course. STI | Hartchrom's specialists achieve an even coating distribution and immaculate dimensional accuracy through a sophisticated placement of anodes.

STI | Hartchrom's surface treatment technology can also be applied in order to work over form inserts showing signs of wear. Hard chrome surface treatment technology is particularly suitable as a surface treatment procedure because of its outstanding wear resistance, the high level of hardness – without warping the base materials – the good bonding characteristics, the anti-adhesive properties and the low friction coefficient. In addition to or in combination with hard chrome coatings chemical nickel coatings are applied - in particular if geometries of complex forms need to be coated dimensionally correct and with identical contours. There are immense economic benefits. The low amount of maintenance required as well as the process safety and lifetime are significant competitive advantages in a demanding market.
