For many years, paper machine manufacturers around the globe have been relying on STI | Hartchrom's unique infrastructure and leading technological competency. STI | Hartchrom's product range includes the industry's deepest baths and the largest grinding machines. High-quality coatings are available for medium-size and even very large components. Over the years, STI | Hartchrom has been developing surface treatment technologies, which meet the highest economic standards of components such as cylinders, sieve baskets, calender rollers or squeegees while maintaining the highest level of quality. The end goal are a higher resistance to corrosion, outstanding anti-adhesion characteristics, greater resistance to temperature effects and mechanical wear. This results in higher equipment availability while at the same time reducing lifecycle costs.  

STI | Hartchrom sets new process development standards across the industry with new procedures and installations such as the computerised continuous chrome plating of squeegee shafts or the sieve basket treatment technology. The sieve basket production plant combines high-end electropolishing and chrome plating procedures and was designed to meet the highest functional and economic demands: maximum wear and impact resistance, clearly defined slot widths, impeccable sorting characteristics, adherence to minimum coating thicknesses and short delivery times. Thanks to the plant control system that was designed in-house, customised tolerances are produced precisely and in reproducible quality. The sieve basket treatment line in the German STI Surface Centre is the largest and most modern of its kind in Europe – an area of over 18,000 m2 contains expansive chrome plating equipment and electropolishing facilities.
